Irish Hall chair
In the early days of Irish nobility, the hall chairs of any stately home worth it’s salt had to cater to the visitors, workers and employees of the noblemen and women who resided there. The Irish Hall Chair is inspired by these functional early designs, featuring a wooden back – a design quirk that was introduced to stop the spread of fleas and other pests from the many horse riding, livestock keeping visitors.

This piece is carved from robust, hand treated wood and is available with a traditional wooden back or an upholstered back and seat according to preference. Crafted using traditional methods by Michael Taylor Designs – an artisan studio of superior furniture designers based in California.
